everything is hooked up correctly as far as the connectors go but it appears that i purchased the wrong wiring harness, evo gmt1 instead of gm1 v2. what alterations/other wires need to be connected to make it work as standalone? programming went fine and i think i have all options correct using flash link updater.thanks

The new GMT1 is actually a GM1v2 harness since the original GM1 harness should be non existant by now. How do you know you have an original GM1 harness? Is there a blue/black wire jumping straight from the RED connector of the EVO to the 20-pin connector?

You're evo is a hardware 6, i doubt that the harness you have is not the right one. The original GM1 harness has been gone for almost 2 years and hardware 6 did not exist yet.

From i can see with the service number, it seems someone tried to use the Dcryptor programming but was unsuccessful : https://fortin.ca/en/support/001a06456066/

Sorry about that I do have gm1v2 after checking. The problem is I think I have it hooked up and programmed right but will not remote start. Blue light flashes when I hit lock unlock but that's it. I tried grounding yellow/Black wire for a second and it started. What other wires or options do I need. Do I need to use dcryptor. That was me by the way. Didn't read all instructions before I tried using it.
Do you have the flash-link udpater? I'll make you reset and start from scratch the programming if you do have it.

Also, the dark blue wire from the 20-pin that says connect to hood pin, make sure it's not grounded. A ground on that wire will prevent remote start.
I do have the flash link updater. I will check the blue wire when I get home but that won't be until after 5 pm. Can you give me directions on how to reset and what options to turn off/on that would be great. Thanks again.

Master Reset Procedure:

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in the datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

Reprogram unit in vehicle using Program 1, Page 6.

Plug EVO in Flash-Link, go to EVO-ALL options and enable options C1 and D1 (don't touch anything else). You may need to also enable option D2 if the factory alarm triggers when remote starting.

Did everything you said, master reset, reprogrammed, turned on c1 and d1 still not working. What time is tech support open?Tried tech support around 7pm only got voicemail.Getting very frustrated. Was supposed to be Christmas present for my wife.
8am-8pm EST. between 6 and 8pm tech support has limited staff. Best is between 8am and 5pm.

Are any lights turning on on the EVO when pressing 3x Lock ?
I won't be able to call until Saturday as my wife works late tonight. The blue light flashes when I hit lock/unlock but that's it. Does it matter in which order after the master reset that in turn on options c1 and d1 or programming in my car. What about toggle between bypass and remote start.

You must be Toggled in Connection Mode : Bypass since the unit is technically a bypass module. There's no real order that you need to do to enable the options. There's a step-by-step that was added yesterday actually : EVO-ALL  <--(click that link)

If you are not getting a RED LED turn on after pressing 3x lock, there can be 3 reasons for this,

  1. Options are not set (they are from what i see with the service number)
  2. pressing 3x lock to fast, Press lock every second, not superman fast
  3. the dark blue wire of the EVO is grounded. Remove any connection made to this wire. (20-pin connetor)

You can also try remote starting by grounding the yellow/black wire of the EVO for 1-2 seconds. that wire is a trigger input. Helps diagnose where a problem may be. If you still get no RED LED when grounding that wire, there can only be 2 reasons.

  1. Options are not set properly.
  2. There is a ground on the dark blue wire of the EVO (20-pin connector)

Wow. I can't believe it was that easy and so simple. I was pushing unlock too fast. Probably the entire time. I've been racking my brain for 3 days trying to figure this out. I would have never got that on my own. Thank you so much.
