Vehicle remote starts with ground on A8

I've got the EVO-ALL installed for stand alone remote start operation but during a functional test it starts with the hood switch grounded. The hood switch circuit(A8) is being used as a safety override switch. Applied ground directly to pin A8 then commanded a remote start and it still starts normally.

Is this due to there being a factory hood switch over riding the evo hood switch circuit?
closed with the note: figured it out, I'm an idiot. option a11 was turned off.
