Why does ignition come on when I plug in evo one?

0 votes
After wiring up the Evo One per directions provided on the website and flashing unit. I then performed the decryptor setup to learn the immobilizer code. I then performed the decryptor flash with the flashlink software.

After that, I could not get the RF remotes to program to the system. The antenna blinks once when I plug it in but it does nothing after that point. I tried to program the rf642 several times with no luck.

I then decided to reprogram the Evo one in order to use the stock key fobs. After trying the oem remote fobs, the ignition turned on but the car did not start, it then shut off and then turned on again as though it was trying to start the car. At which point I assumed the immobilizer was not programmed properly. So I tried to do the key program again now when plugging in the Evo one, the ignition turns on immediately.

I am not sure what I am missing, is there a way to completely reset the Evo One to like new condition to start from scratch?

a master reset can be done inside the vehicle following this guide: https://fortin.ca/en/download/61931/61931.pdf

Also what is the S/N to the module? This is located on the back of the unit.

Was A T-Harnes used?

What are all the manual connections you made between the module and the vehicle aside from the t-harness. (if one as used).

Thank you for the resposne Dereck.

I was able to locate the instructions for the master reset process. Unfortuanately, it isnt working for me. The problem seems to be related to the fact that the ignition turns on the moment the Evo One high current 6 pin connector is hooked up. The Evo One does not respond to the Valet switch at all.

The S/N is 002B07 244710

Starter:7.1.21

EVO-ALL: 2.4.18

Date: 01/2018

A T-harness was not used as it was unavailable for my vehicle.

I made all connections per Fortin guide 57411. I followed the instruction for the automatic transmission install. the connections were basically all at either the ignition switch connector or the Body control module connectors.

The unti did not act this way (turning on ignition when plugged in) until I reprogrammed it to use the OEM Fobs. This began to act this way after I tried a three lock press to remote start the vehicle (this didnt work). From that point on, the ignition powers up when the Evo is plugged in.
Pugging in what connector causes your ignition to turn on by itself?
The ignition powers up now as soon as the high current 6pin connector is plugged in.
This normally means the unit has been perminently damaged. Verify power and ground going to the unit. If they are ok, you will need a replacement unit.

If you get a replacement unit. I suggest going over your installation before plugging it in because something caused the unit to get damaged. Perhaps the way the relay was wired in?
