Cruze starts then shuts off then trunk pops

0 votes
I have a fortin module with a crimestopper module and I have been trying to get this to work for a couple months. Each time I get closer. Now my problem is the car will remote start then it will shut off. Then it will try to remote start again and the trunk pops. No idea why this behavior is being experienced.

that sounds like a datalink protocol issue between the RS and the evo. Would be worth it to be rid of datalink and go wire-to-wire.

I don't think that's an appropriate solution. I am going to test my tach source through crimestoppers diagnostic and disconnect the trunk wire for now to see if I can at least get the car to keep running. I won't be using this combination again.
According to Crimestoppers tach validation procedure I am getting a successful tach input. I also found that I am getting an error message from the Crimestopper module that indicates "Ignition On before Remote Start or Tach problem" . As I stated above I the tach source has been validated. There is some kind of miscommunication between the two modules.
So doing as rob suggested would be a good idea then...
What do you guys mean wire to wire? I'm not even sure if I need an immobilizer by pass so do you mean hard wiring the crimestopper module or is there something else implied?
Can always just try a different protocol.

Set crimestopper to ADS and the EVO option F2 instead of F1.

Keep in mind, crimestopper has already said there is an issue with their ADS datalink protocol. Not sure if they have updated it yet or not
It's worth a try. I'll see what happens.
Hey did you get it all figured out?
No I did not get this figured out. I ended up scrapping this project since it appeared that the Crimestopper module and the Evo All module could not communicate correctly. I instead took the Crimestopper module and installed it on another vehicle with an automatic transmission and it worked flawlessly.

Also I tested the Evo all in automatic mode and held the clutch in and it started the vehicle so both modules worked they just didn't like to talk to each other.

Lesson learned, don't buy the evo all for a manual transmission.
