2009 Chevrolet Uplander hit&miss remote start with Evo-all

0 votes
2009 Uplander sometimes will not remote start. Evo-all is hardwired to ProStart. (Lt.blue/black from Evo-all is not connected to the vehicle. The tan/white wire in the vehicle is missing). However the evo-all module programmed fine. Half the time, the vehicle remote starts on the first try, the other half of the time, it will either remote start on the third try or it doesn't remote start at all. The vehicle remote starts all the time if the key is placed in front of the ignition. Does the lt.blue/black have to be connected? If so, where do I connect it if the tan/white wire is missing? Also, if it does remote start, "starting disabled" flashes in the info center. This message does not show up if the van is remote started with the key in front of the ignition cylinder.

Comment:  I just noticed that the installation manual says to use version 4.06 only.  However,  the recommended update given in Flash link was different..i can't remember exactly the version but it was  in the 7x.xx  range. Can this make a difference? I don't have the vehicle at the moment so I can't re-flash the module to see if it will make difference.

Any comments/inputs are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Eric,

The data BCM wire is only for keyless entry. If door locks do not work properly, you will need to insert the light blue/black wire in the empty pin.

The first thing you should do is downgrade to the firmware 4.06 as written in the installation guide. After 4.06, the J1850 databus foudn in older GM and Chrysler vehicles was removed from the EVO firmware but later re-introduced, which is why in the flash link it told 70.XX. Unfortunately, a firmware made yesterday cannot be fully tested on vehicles that X amount of years since their availability is scarce.

If using datalink  with Prostart:

To make things a little confusing. You will not be able to use datalink in D2D protocol with the Prostart with firmware 4.06. If you usiung datalink, you would actually want firmware 0.60. 0.60 is 4.06 but in D2D protocol. After changing to 0.60 for D2D protocol, make sur ethe Prostart is set to Expresskit.
