2012 Dodge Journey Resistor

0 votes
I am going to be installing an EVO CHR6 in a 2012 Dodge Journey push to start and have a couple questions because the instructions are not real clear. I am using it as a stand alone remote start with a crime stoppers RF kit. It looks like I need to install a resistor for parking lights, do I just install this in line or do I need to use a relay as well?

Also I see on the diagram 2 wires for door locks and one for external start/stop input. Are these wires that need to be connected for this type of install? There is no other information about those connections.

The resistor is needed for parking lights. You can follow the instructions and install it in series. No relay is needed. This is only used as convenience to see that the vehicle is running. Connection is not required.

The door locks and the external trigger are INPUTs. This allows control of lock-unlock and start/stop via an external source. You will not be connecting these.

Instructions do not show that a resistor is needed for the parking lights
That's because using the evo the resistance value is coded into the green/red wire.
